My Clinchfield Railroad Blue Ridge Division
layout is modeled after the Clinchfield Railroad as it was in the mid 1970's. I model an area located between Erwin, TN. and
Bostic, NC.
The Clinchfield Railroad, now part of CSX, is a bridge line that connects the midwest with the southeast. Coal is the main commodity,
but there are 4 scheduled Time Freights and an assortment of locals.
I operate the layout with 5-8 people using the schedule from 1975. My towns and track arrangements are taken directly from Clinchfield Railroad track charts. Ops sessions last between 3 and 4 hours with a 4:1 fast clock using the Digitrax DCC system.
My freight cars are all routed with the car card system using actual car routings from the era.
